Shimei Yuda, 82, of Fullerton, Calif., died Dec. 20. Born in Hilo, he was a U.S. Army veteran. Funeral services at 4 p.m. Jan. 13 at Orange County Buddhist Church in Anaheim, Calif. Casual attire. No flowers. Survived by wife, Agnes Yuda; children, Anson Yuda and Stuart (Lee) Yuda; siblings, Kwanichi Yuda, George Yuda and Kay Murashige; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Sally Christine Whitney, 58, of Kapoho died Dec. 23 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Los Angeles, she was the owner of Hale O Naia Bed and Breakfast in Kapoho and a registered nurse. Services to be held. Survived by partner, Jeff Neumann of Kapoho; mother, Willene Whitney of Atlanta; sisters, Nancy (Terry) Mann of Ephrata, Ga., and Julie Whitney of Lynnwood, Wash.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Edward Kealoha Blake, 83, of Hilo died Dec. 28. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired technical manager for Paradise Supply. Memorial services at 8:30 a.m. Monday at National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) in Honolulu. Clara Peggy Zeidlhack-Keanini, 87, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 25. Born in Oklahoma, she was a retired nurse. Celebration of life at 10 a.m. Jan. 18 at Regency at Hualalai chapel. Chiyoko Tawara, 100, of Pepeeko died Dec. 23. She was born in California. Private services held. Survived by sons, Robert H. Robert Seizo Nakamura, 75, of Las Vegas and Honolulu died Monday at Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Kealakekua, he was vice president of finance for American Honda Finance Corporation. Visitation at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Memorial service at 2 p.m. Inurnment at 10 a.m. Friday at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Casual attire. No flowers. Survived by companion, Elsie Tatsuguchi of Honolulu; daughters, Lisa (Dan) Luttrell of San Diego and Tammy (Bill) Houlihan of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brothers, Shuichi (Keiko) Nakamura of Honolulu, Richard (Pat) Nakamura of Pearl City, Oahu, and Ernest (Lorraine) Nakamura of Orange, Calif.; sisters, Shizue Yamaguchi and Elsie (George) Fujimoto, both of Pearl City, Oahu; three grandchildren.

Marcelina “Inang” Cadiz Acorda is also survived by son-in-law, Allen Vallente of Seattle. His name was omitted in an obit published Tuesday.
